How to Send Wattpad Stories to Kindle
You can read WP stories on your Kindle by downloading them as EPUB and using Amazon’s free Send-to-Kindle service. Here’s the full process.
What you need
- A WP story URL
- An Amazon account with a Kindle device or the Kindle app
- Your Kindle email address (found in Amazon settings)
Step 1: Download the story as EPUB
- Copy the story URL from the Wattpad website or app.
- Go to WP Downloader and paste the URL.
- Make sure EPUB is selected as the format (it’s the default - no sign-in needed).
- Click Download and save the EPUB file.
Step 2: Find your Kindle email address
- Go to Amazon’s “Manage Your Content and Devices” page.
- Click Preferences.
- Scroll to Personal Document Settings.
- Find the Send-to-Kindle Email address for your device (it ends in
@kindle.com).
If you use the Kindle app, each device (phone, tablet) has its own address. Pick the one you want to read on.
Step 3: Send the EPUB to your Kindle
Option A - Email:
- Open your email app and create a new email.
- In the To field, enter your Kindle email address.
- Attach the EPUB file and send. (The subject line doesn’t matter.)
- Amazon converts and delivers the book to your Kindle within minutes.
Option B - Send-to-Kindle app (Windows/Mac):
- Download the Send-to-Kindle desktop app from Amazon.
- Drag and drop the EPUB file onto the app window.
- Select your Kindle device and click Send.
Step 4: Read on your Kindle
The story will appear in your Kindle library automatically. If it doesn’t show up after a few minutes, open the Kindle library and sync manually.
Tips
- File size: Most WP story EPUBs are well under Amazon’s 50 MB email limit.
- Images: Enable the Include Images toggle in WP Downloader if you want chapter images to appear on your Kindle.
- Series: Download each book individually and send them all - they’ll appear in your library in order.
Troubleshooting
Email not arriving - check that your sending address is on Amazon’s approved senders list under Personal Document Settings. Add your email address if it isn’t there.
File rejected - make sure the file is under 50 MB and is in EPUB format.
Book doesn’t sync - manually sync your Kindle by going to the home screen and pulling down to refresh, or tap Menu → Sync.
